Position Summary:
The Parts Clerk supports the Maintenance Department by overseeing the inventory, organization, and distribution of mechanical and electrical parts, tools, and supplies required for equipment maintenance and repairs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring minimal downtime by keeping essential items readily available and properly documented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize the parts room and all associated inventory.
- Receive, verify, and store incoming parts, ensuring accuracy of shipments and proper documentation.
- Issue parts to maintenance technicians and document all part transactions using internal systems.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to reorder items as needed.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist with full physical inventories.
- Label, categorize, and shelve all parts accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate with vendors to follow up on orders, lead times, and availability.
- Assist in preparing purchase requisitions and managing order records.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in the parts room.
- Track usage trends and help identify opportunities to streamline inventory or reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of experience in inventory control, maintenance parts management, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical parts used in industrial food processing equipment is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory/CMMS systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse/shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
