The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to lead residential and light commercial projects from start to completion. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and subcontractors, ensuring that every project is executed with the engineering precision and superior service that MBK is known for.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Oversee all phases of construction projects, including remodeling, structural work, and new builds.
• Budget & Estimating: Prepare accurate cost estimates and manage project budgets (typically ranging from $15k to $400k+), ensuring financial health and transparency.
• Scheduling: Develop and maintain rigorous project timelines, coordinating with internal teams and external subcontractors to meet deadlines.
• Subcontractor Management: supervise subcontractors across various trades (masonry, carpentry, electrical, etc.), ensuring work meets MBK’s high standards.
• Client Relations: Serve as the "face" of MBK to our clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring total customer satisfaction.
• Quality & Safety Control: Perform regular site visits to ensure adherence to safety protocols, building codes, and our internal quality benchmarks.
• Permitting & Compliance: Navigate local municipality requirements for permits, inspections, and historical district regulations where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in residential construction project management or general contracting.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of construction methods, structural repairs, and reading blueprints. Proficiency in project management software such as MS Office and buildertrend.
• Licensing: Familiarity with Michigan residential building codes and safety regulations.
• Soft Skills: Strong negotiation skills, professional polish, and the ability to solve problems on the fly. You must be a "people person" who values building long-term relationships.
• Location: Must be able to commute to job sites in Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, and Saline.
