Pharmacy Intern or Pharmacy Tech (Part-Time)

Exciting Part-Time Opportunity for a Pharmacy Intern or Pharmacy Technician!

Looking to grow your pharmacy career while maintaining a great work schedule? We are hiring a part-time pharmacy intern or pharmacy technician to work every other weekend at South Shore Hospital, a 284-bed acute care hospital in South Chicago.

Pay Rate: $21 an hour

2nd Shift Pay Differential: $1.65 per hour

Pharmacy Shifts:

• Saturday and Sunday, 7am - 3pm or 12pm - 8pm

What You Will Do

• Ensures procurement and distribution of drug orders.
• Identifies and fills replacement medications on emergency crash carts, OR carts, and floor stock accurately.
• Prepares sterile products (including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition) accurately.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately.
• Rotates stock to ensure use before the expiration date.
• Picks up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately.
• Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs.

What You Will Need

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of pharmacy intern or pharmacy technician experience preferably in a hospital setting.
• Possess current pharmacy intern or pharmacy technician license in the State of Illinois.
• Successful completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training course is preferred.
