Pay Range:  $15.50 - $17.00 an Hour

This role involves planning and preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as special meals for events, and may also include assisting with food purchasing, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Personal Care Home Cook:

• Meal Preparation and Execution:

  Prepare daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following pre-set menus and standardized recipes, adapting for residents' dietary needs and preferences (e.g., therapeutic diets, allergies, textures).

• Food Safety and Hygiene:

  Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, temperature control, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment and equipment.

   

• Inventory Management and Ordering:

  Monitor food supplies, assist with ordering ingredients, and manage inventory to minimize waste and ensure freshness, while controlling costs.

• Kitchen Management and Support:

  Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of kitchen spaces and equipment, perform dishwashing and cleaning duties, and potentially supervise or assist other kitchen staff.

• Resident Interaction and Service:

  May assist with serving meals, preparing and serving snacks, and potentially delivering food to residents' rooms if required.

• Compliance and Documentation:

  Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including state and local requirements, and maintain accurate records as needed.
