Join a leading acute-care hospital as an RN in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum in Shelby, NC. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a focus on teamwork and patient care.
\nUnit Information:
\n- \n
- 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU \n
- Average of 4 to 6 patients per day \n
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn care
\nPatient Ratios: RN: AWHONN Staffing Guidelines 1:2 Inactive labor; 1:1 Active Labor; 1:3-4 Couplets
\nRequired Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP
\nSkills Required: Labor and Delivery Nurse skills including labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, resuscitation of newborns, Pitocin management, and epidural management. Ability and willingness to work in an LDRP setting.
\nSupport within the Department: Charge nurse available 24/7, phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws, RT and Hospitalist available 24/7 for newborn care.
\nTechnology/Equipment: EMR: Epic, IV Pump: Alaris, Med dispensing: Omnicell, Fetal Monitoring Technology.
\nFloating: Required to float within region and scope of practice. Will float to all facilities as needed.
\nOrientation: 2 days departmental orientation.
\nScheduling: Weekend rotation every other weekend, with the possibility of low census call. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays.
\nOther Notes: Scrub color is green, hospital issued, and free parking is available. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork.
