Monday–Friday | 8:00AM–4:30PM | On-site in Douglassville, PA

American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer (Electrical Engineer III) to join our Engineering team. This role is designed for a highly experienced individual contributor who thrives on solving complex industrial electrical problems and wants their expertise trusted—not diluted by layers of bureaucracy. You’ll work on custom crane, hoist, and control systems used in mission-critical industrial, nuclear, and heavy manufacturing applications where safety, reliability, and sound engineering judgment matter.

What You’ll Do
Advanced Electrical Design & Engineering
- Design, develop, and support industrial electrical and control systems for cranes and hoists
- Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of material
- Apply electrical engineering principles to power distribution, motor control, and industrial automation systems
Problem Solving & Technical Responsibility
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues during design, manufacturing, testing, and field support
- Serve as a technical authority on electrical design decisions and trade-offs
- Support manufacturing and field service teams with technical guidance and solutions
Codes, Standards & Quality
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards such as NFPA, NEC, UL 508A, and ASME
- Support quality documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Review work produced by other engineers for accuracy, compliance, and sound engineering practice
Technical Leadership (Non-Supervisory)
- Mentor Electrical Engineer I & II team members through technical guidance and design reviews
- Share best practices and lessons learned to raise overall engineering quality
- Provide realistic technical input to support project planning and execution
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program (required)
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (a plus, not required)
Skills, Experience & Attributes
- 7+ years of industrial electrical engineering experience
- Strong background in power distribution, motor control, and industrial control systems
- Proven experience producing and reviewing electrical schematics and panel designs
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, UL 508A, ASME)
- Hands-on troubleshooting mindset with strong practical judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and engineering ethics

Licensure
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
REQUIREMENTS
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
- Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
- Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws (including 10 C.F.R. Part 810, EAR, and/or ITAR), where applicable
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with company policy and randomized drug screens during employment
- Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
- Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in shop or manufacturing areas
- Willingness to complete required safety and compliance training
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Ability to work full-time, on-site Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM
- Certain projects may require the ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities in compliance with NRC regulations (10 C.F.R. Parts 26 & 73)
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments while following all safety requirements

- Primarily office-based engineering role
- Regular collaboration with manufacturing and field service teams
- Occasional exposure to shop environments, electrical equipment, and industrial conditions
- Required use of PPE when in manufacturing or testing areas
