Job Description
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse(RN) provides high-quality clinical care, patient education, care coordination, and support services across two cliniclocations,Pikeville and Hazard. This role ensures safe, efficient patient flow and promotes a positive patient experience while working collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, behavioral health staff, and front-office personnel. Travel between both locations isrequiredbased on scheduling and clinic needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Clinical Care & Patient Support
- Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, history review, medication reconciliation, and symptom evaluation.
- Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments per provider orders and clinic protocols.
- Provide patient education on medications, follow-up care, chronic conditions, and treatment plans (non-diagnostic).
- Conduct telephone triage and relay provider-approved instructions to patients.
- Maintain awareness of patient acuity and escalate concerns to providers promptly.
Documentation & Compliance
- Document all patient interactions in eClinicalWorks (eCW) accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, state nursing regulations, and clinic policies.
- Maintain accurate logs (vaccine logs, medication inventory, crash cart checks, etc.).
- Participate in audits, quality measures, and compliance initiatives as directed.
Clinical Operations
- Oversee clinical workspace readiness, room stocking, equipment checks, and infection control protocols.
- Support medical assistants by providing guidance, training, and clarification on clinical procedures.
- Assist with lab collections (phlebotomy, swabs, point-of-care testing) per competency and policy.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and maintaincurrent CPR/BLS certification.
Travel Between Pikeville & Hazard Locations
- Work scheduled days at both Pikeville and Hazard clinics as assigned.
- Maintain reliable transportation and punctual arrival to designatedclinics.
- Adapt workflows as needed based on varying patient volume and provider schedules at each location.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required).
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky in good standing.
- Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification required; additionalcertifications preferred.
- Experience: Prior clinic, outpatient, primary care, or urgent care experience preferred.
- Technical Skills:
-Proficiencyin EHR systems, preferably eClinicalWorks (eCW).
-Strong communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, and bending.
