Position Summary

As the Director of Engineering, you will lead and shape the technical direction of QES’s multidisciplinary engineering organization. You’ll oversee electrical, mechanical, structural, and systems engineering teams that design and deliver custom electrical enclosures and modular electrical buildings (E-Houses). This role combines high-level strategic leadership with hands-on oversight of product development, engineering quality, and project execution.

This position reports to senior leadership and is responsible for delivering engineering excellence, driving process improvements, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team across multiple disciplines
• Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with business objectives
• Oversee project lifecycle from concept through design, validation, and production release
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards
• Collaborate closely with operations, sales, product management, and fabrication teams
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and documentation
• Maintain adherence to schedules and budgets while managing risk
• Provide technical leadership on complex electrical and modular enclosure system designs

Qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related)
• Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial or electrical product design
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
• Strong background in electrical system design, modular systems, or industrial products
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Experience with custom electrical enclosures, power distribution systems, or E-Houses
• Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards
• Demonstrated success in driving engineering process optimization
