Intern - Commercial

As a Commercial-Sales Intern, you will play a crucial role in developing the future of the Alpek Polyester Sheet business within the US Sheet Commercial Team. Your attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills will be utilized to map processes, create procedures, and deliver reports/insights on sales and the PET Sheet market. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience and exposure to a relevant segment of the packaging supply chain and the global plastics industry.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities
The student selected as the Commercial-Sales Intern will work at our CA - Columbia Site located in Gaston, SC. Interns are reportable to their assigned team's supervisor and will directly be exposed to various aspects of commercial operations & strategy, international business, and supply chain in the Alpek Polyester Sheet organization.

Students will have the opportunity to collaborate cross functionally with other personnel and teams to accomplish their assigned projects and tasks including:

• Assist with the day-to-day tactical functions that directly support the US Sheet Commercial team
• Process Mapping, Data Analysis, Market Research, SOP creation
• Complete special projects and assignments as directed.
• Successful execution of job responsibilities requires the ability to operate independently and effectively utilize initiative, attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality.

Required Skills

• Full time enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program from an accredited college/university
  • Majoring in International Business, Supply Chain and Operations, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant disciplines 
• Availability to work full time (40 hours/ week) for the 3-month duration of intern assignment
• Ability to understand sales and supply chain processes in a large, global manufacturing enterprise
• Shows deep curiosity and eagerness to learn across multiple domains
• Proficient or advanced data analysis skills
• Familiarity with business process mapping and business process optimization
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to make good judgment decisions
• Willing and able to take initiative
• Self-motivated
• Professional level of integrity
• Team-oriented
• Good problem-solving skills
