Civil Construction Superintendent

Key Responsibilities

• Manage heavy civil construction projects from start to finish
• Oversee budgets, schedules, contracts, and project profitability
• Coordinate with Superintendents, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors
• Develop and maintain project schedules and cost tracking
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and procurement
• Process change orders, RFIs, and submittals
• Track quantities, production rates, and project progress
• Ensure quality control and safety compliance across all projects
• Lead project meetings and client communications
• Forecast costs, manage risk, and resolve project issues proactively
• Prepare and submit project documentation, reports, and closeout packages

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil construction
• Proven experience in highway, dam, sitework, and utility projects
• Strong understanding of excavation, grading, drainage, concrete, and paving
• Experience managing underground utilities (water, sewer, storm, electrical, duct bank)
• Knowledge of DOT projects, municipal work, and civil infrastructure
• Strong financial, scheduling, and contract management skills
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
• Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
