Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Lead Custodial to join our team and support our continued growth.
This role will be involved in supporting overall facility building and grounds maintenance activities. The activities carried out as part of this job will result in not only improved facility appearance but also enhance functionality.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Trains, directs, and inspects the work of Custodians.
- Utilize a fork-lift for material handling purposes in fulfilment of duties.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and other areas as necessary.
- Re-stock restroom supplies.
- Vacuum carpeting.
- Dust furniture, pictures, counters, etc.
- Mop, dust, and sweep floors as needed.
- Strip and wax floors as needed.
- Spot clean carpet.
- Clean and maintain air vents.
- Wash walls where needed.
- Clean glass entry doors.
- Maintain security in building during and after cleaning.
- Check and straighten all conference rooms and lunchrooms.
- Clean sinks and counter tops in break areas.
- Keep custodial storage and work area clean at all times.
- General parking lot clean-up to include emptying trash containers and sweeping walkways and steps.
- Perform general maintenance such as changing light bulbs and addressing pest control.
- Perform basic plumbing maintenance on drinking fountains and bathroom/kitchen fixtures including changing filters.
- Assemble/repair and maintain office, conference room, and classroom furnishing including carts, tables, chalk boards, bulletin boards, etc.
- Move and arrange furniture and other items as necessary.
- Replace ceiling tiles as needed.
- Repair and maintenance of door closure devices, locks, etc.
- Set up conference and/or training rooms as directed.
- Repair drywall and paint as needed.
- Periodic cleaning of windows.
- Fill and operate trash compactors.
- Clean facilities utilizing the sweeper and scrubber machines as needed.
- Remove trash and recycling materials from plant floors.
- Operate granulator to scrap foamed cooler parts.
- Remain current on forklift training and certification as required by supervisor and/or Igloo Safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Inventory control of supplies.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:
- Education: High School degree or equivalency.
- Experience: Two (2) years related experience or training; must be able to operate a forklift.
- English language skills: Ability to speak and understand basic English; Ability to comprehend instructions.
- Use a computer to prepare daily reports, send emails, and perform other tasks.
- Math skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Physical Demands essential to the job: Ability to lift and transport up to 40 lbs., ability to climb and descend stairs, ability to work with little supervision.
- Work environment: May work in conditions that are wet or humid, near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; around fumes or airborne particles; around toxic or caustic chemicals; around unpleasant odors; in outdoor weather conditions, in extreme heat, around vibration, or in places where may be at risk for electrical shock.

Physical Demands & Conditions
(Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing)
Standing & Walking
Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing.
Postural Requirements
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks.
Lifting & Material Handling
- Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts.
- Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used.
Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use
Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision.
Visual Requirements
Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.
Environmental Conditions
- Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100–120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
- High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task.
Additional Job Considerations
These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
