Schedule: Flexible, with a minimum of 3 hours per day, 3 days per week with a total up to 20 hours per week
Communications Intern
Under the general direction of the Communications Specialist, the intern will perform miscellaneous tasks within the Communications Department in a learning capacity. Work may involve assistance prior to, during, and after Town-sponsored events scheduled outside normal business hours.? Excellent organizational and communication skills required.Position Duties
Specific duties of the position include, but may not be limited to:
Updating our online event calendars
Submitting calendar entries on external websites
Overseeing the distribution of assorted printed materials as orders are filled and delivered
Maintaining printed material displays in various Town facilities
Assisting in the preparation and setup of Town events
Taking photographs and shooting short form video content at Town events
Preparing various forms and other documents
Posting Town initiatives on Town social media (Facebook, Instagram and X)
Assisting with proofing and preparing social media plans
Editing the Town website
Uploading, organizing, and tagging photos on the Town’s photo software
Attending weekly staff meetings
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer internship program)
- Pursuing or interested in a career in Communications, Marketing.?or Public Relations
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and transportation
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
