Janitorial Floor Care Technician
The starting wage for this position is $18.85 for evening and weekend hours (Any hours worked prior to 5pm M-F will revert to the base salary of $16.35).
Job Summary:
To assess and address janitorial floor care including carpet extraction / hard surface tile and linoleum floor striping waxing and burnishing and safety issues. Work in collaboration with Supervisor and FOD Manager. Assist with Housekeeping duties when short staffed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Keep the facility Floors clean and maintain a professional atmosphere.
- Perform required daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly floor maintenance.
- Be available for occasional coverage for Housekeeping.
- Able to do stripping and refinishing, top coating, burnishing, carpet extraction, carpet spot removal, upholstery cleaning, stairway cleaning and maintaining of floor care equipment.
- Maintain Excel Spreadsheet for floor care record.
Work Experience:
Knowledge of safety and floor care equipment operation and have good janitorial skills. Have knowledge of computer operation or be willing to be trained.
Education Requirements: Previous Floor Care Experience preferred.
Must have the education or be willing to be trained in the OSHA Standards Regulations in regards to housekeeping, as well as Blood borne Pathogens.
General Requirements:
Must be able to work under pressure; be detail oriented; have good work ethics and communication skills and must have the ability to work well with supervisor and coworkers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position at 40 hours a week. Works primarily a swing shift position (6:00 p.m. 2:30 a.m.). Expected hours of work may change at any time with or without notice.
Risk Level:
High exposure with personal protective equipment required
Working Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment with outpatient medical exam rooms.
