Private Music Instructor - Part-time

Inspire a love of music in our community—Northbrook Park District is seeking a passionate and skilled Piano Instructor to provide high-quality, engaging instruction that helps students of all ages grow in confidence, creativity, and musical ability.

This position is responsible for teaching assigned classes in a designated program area, within established program guidelines and while providing the proper guidance and support for each participant. Class instruction may vary based on level of expertise of students/attendees and age range of students/attendees. May instruct classes for children through adult age. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District

Pay & Schedule:
$35.00 - $45.00 Per Hour

This is a part-time, non-exempt position.

Sunday Mornings 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM to being--with room to add additional days in future sessions. 

Duties & Responsibilities:  

• Develops and implements lessons or schedule supporting the established program curriculum.

• Actively engages all students and provides support and constructive feedback.

• Tracks attendance records and documents student progress, when required.

• Prepares students for end of session shows or recitals as needed.

• Prepares students/attendees for games as needed.

• Arrives before class start time to inspect instruction space, set-up equipment and supplies if needed and greet students.

• Regularly updates Leisure Services Supervisor on the condition of the teaching space and equipment.

• Plans and organizes class routines, projects, performances, recital(s), when required.

• Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

• Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.

• Follows safe work practices.

• Attends trainings and meetings as required.

• Performs related duties as assigned.
