General Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic nursing care activities under the direction of the Charge Nurse (RN), Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), provider, etc., in the MS Unit within his/her scope of practice (RCW 18.360.050). The CNA assists the provider, RN’s, LPNs, or other nursing staff with: daily care of the patient, collecting patient information, communicating key information to the RN, LPN, or provider, and anticipating/acting on the needs of the patient proactively. The CNA demonstrates excellence in customer service in interactions with patients, families, and other customers, and collaborates with colleagues and departments throughout the organization to provide optimal outcomes for our patients in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable manner. May provide necessary routine clerical support for the nursing unit and perform unit secretary duties if needed. The CNA is aware of the potential exposure to internal and external hazardous materials, including but not limited to: blood and blood-borne pathogens, infectious/communicable diseases, and potential physical injury while caring for patients. Maintains a safe and clean environment for patient care.
