The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). This role supports residents in improving, maintaining, or recovering the skills necessary for daily living, promoting independence, safety, and quality of life.

Reporting: This position reports directly to the Occupational Therapist and the Director of Rehabilitation Services.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist residents with individualized occupational therapy activities to improve self-care, functional mobility, and independence.
• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Document resident progress and response to therapy accurately and timely.
• Educate residents and families on adaptive strategies, assistive devices, and safety techniques.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support comprehensive care planning.
• Promote a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for all residents.
• Demonstrate compassion, respect, and professionalism in all interactions.
