Job Overview

Contract Hardware Inc. is seeking a hands-on and experienced Wood Shop Manager to lead operations in our interior door fabrication shop. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing daily shop activities, training and supervising a team, and ensuring timely, high-quality production of hollow and solid core door units. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in wood fabrication with strong leadership and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the interior door fabrication shop.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor shop employees in fabrication techniques and safety procedures.
  • Oversee the production of hollow and solid core doors to meet precise project specifications.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain pneumatic tools and shop equipment to ensure production accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate inventory movement, materials flow, and space utilization within the shop.
  • Monitor and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery without reliance on overtime.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure fabrication aligns with project needs and timelines.


Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience in wood fabrication, particularly in door assembly.
  • Deep understanding of pneumatic tools, machinery, and precision fabrication practices.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience in a wood shop or fabrication setting.
  • Strong ability to train, motivate, and lead a team toward production goals.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and safety management skills.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
