Job Description
Job Summary:
Supervision and performance of Maintenance and Operation of Outboard Engines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs and supervises routine preventative and corrective maintenance on gasoline powered outboard engines and maintains and repairs associated Craft systems, also performs maintenance on the assigned TUG Tow Tractor.
• Schedules maintenance requirements, assesses and analyzes engine performance, trouble shoots defective machinery
• Operates and inspects outboard engines and systems to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, replaces defective components and tests to ensure operating efficiency
• Maintains documentation/ machinery history.
• Obtain Price Quotes and Availability of required repair/maintenance parts.
• Ensure proper stock of routine maintenance parts and material.
• Ensure compliance to all Company Policies and Procedures, USCG, Federal, State and Local Government Agencies regulations.
• Any other duties as required for the Contract performance
Essential Functions:
• Supervision, operations and maintenance of outboard engines and associated systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Supervises assigned Outboard Mechanics
Qualifications:
• The Lead Outboard Mechanic shall be certified to work on the assigned outboard engines and be proficient at using specialized tools and diagnostic systems
Physical Demands:
• Moderate. Please refer to the USCG Merchant Mariner Medical and Physical Examination
• Requirements for Merchant Mariner Credentials (Form CG-719 K))
Work Environment:
• Pier Side, associated facilities and at sea
