Position Overview
Arixa's Post-Closing Associate is responsible for supporting all post-closing responsibilities for the department, including but not limited to obtaining original collateral documents, file audits, record keeping and storage of original collateral documentation, collateral packaging, and all related items. Creating and recording assignments of deed of trust and managing all trailing documentation. We seek someone who is intellectually curious, holds themselves to high standards and can thrive in a high achieving, fast paced cultural environment. This position is full-time in office at our Los Angeles location.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures executed collateral documents are received within proper SLA and determines best course of action on issues.
- Reviews and audits documentation for file quality and identifies deficiencies or if document corrections are needed. Determines if collateral is ready for storage.
- Reviews funded loans and determines all conditions are satisfied.
- Research and reviews documentation issues from Servicing and/or Capital Markets.
- Organizes trailing documents, identifies collateral location, and prepares for collateral shipping by generating a manifest; informs investor and/or custodian of the tracking number.
- Acts as a liaison between Director, Capital Markets and team on loan trades or bank pledges. Supports in uploading loan images to secured sites and facilities and tracks collateral shipment to and from investor and/or custodian within SLA.
- Responsible for insuring credit and collateral files are accurate, completed and delivered to investor within SLA.
- Responsible for facilitating the research of all post-closing issues to determine validity of the issue and able to correct course for resolution.
- Manages a pipeline of funded loans to obtain recording information from closing company and/or research country websites for recording information and recorded Deed of Trust images.
- Drafts Assignments and Allonges into proper fund entities or investor/bank entities for proper transfer of ownership. Submits Assignments and Allonges to authorized Arixa signer.
- Submits wet, original Assignments for recording authorization via Simplifile; if active Notary license, may notarize Assignments.
- Works directly with Title Companies on obtaining title policies and ensure Arixa is in first lien position. Verifies signed Lender Instructions exceptions are deleted and/or paid on Title Policies. Any issues, escalate to Director, Loan Operations.
- Tracks and uploads all Final Closing Statements in Salesforce.
- Communicates and escalates any issues to Director, Loan Operations.
- Support in distributing incoming mail.
- Works on special projects as needed or other duties as may be assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
- 2-3 years of post-closing or operation fulfillment experience required, preferably in private lending.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with strong initiative.
- Possesses the ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills while adapting to change quickly.
- Works well in a fast-paced team driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
- Experience working with Salesforces a plus.
- Active Notary License a plus
- Work Environment: This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or address urgent issues
Compensation
This LA based position requires in office work two (2) or more days per week in office to ensure close alignment among all team members. This position is non-exempt full time, with Salary Range: $31.25 to $36.10 per hour, plus discretionary bonus potential.
