New Life Clinic is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) / Nursing Supervisor for its Ukiah, CA clinic. This position reports to the Medical Director and works closely with the Clinic Director and VP of Nursing to support nursing operations and patient care.
Position Overview
Nurses are central to the delivery of care in the outpatient setting. The RN Nursing Supervisor provides clinical leadership while also delivering direct patient care. This role supports safe, efficient, and standardized nursing practices and promotes a patient-centered, team-based care model.
Ambulatory care nursing requires both independent clinical judgment and collaboration with providers, patients, and allied health staff. The RN Nursing Supervisor ensures nursing services meet clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership and Supervision
- Coordinate and oversee direct care activities of RNs, LVNs, and CMAs.
- Support daily nursing operations in collaboration with the Clinic Director, VP of Nursing, and Medical Director.
- Ensure nursing workflows are standardized, evidence-based, and consistently applied.
- Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and allied health staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and seek consultation as needed.
Education and Competency
- Oversee competency-based education and training for nursing and allied health staff.
- Ensure RNs, LVNs, and CMAs maintain clinical competency and understand role expectations.
- Assess ongoing education needs and support professional development.
- Promote professional conduct and value-based behaviors aligned with clinic standards.
Quality and Practice Support
- Monitor and support compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Assist with data collection and evaluation related to quality improvement, clinical outcomes, and staff competency.
- Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with clinic leadership and VP of Nursing.
Direct Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care in the outpatient clinical setting.
- Perform telephone triage, patient education, and care coordination.
- Assess patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Administer medications and assist providers with clinical procedures.
- Respond to medical emergencies as required.
Indian Preference applies. Qualified Indian (American Indian or Alaska Native) applicants will receive preference consistent with 25 U.S.C. § 5307 and 25 U.S.C. § 5117.
Minimum Requirements- Graduate of accredited RN program, bachelor’s degree in nursing highly desirable.
- Active RN License in good standing.
- Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Licensure and organizational needs.
- 5 years clinical experience.
- One year supervisory, leadership position highly desirable.
- BLS Certification, ACLS Certification preferred.
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic life support.
- Ability to pass drug and background screening.
- Ability to provide health and TB clearance.
- Licensure in good standing and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS.
- 2 years of recent/previous work experience in substance use disorder setting.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and service excellence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make knowledgeable clinical assessments and judgments (nursing process).
- Must possess initiative and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work as a member of the care team.
- Expertise/ knowledge in Process Improvement.
- Expertise in standardization and workflow development and implementation.
- Strong data and computer skills (able to monitor and evaluate workflows and processes).
- Ability to prioritize tasks. Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in the clinic setting.
- Participates in case conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas among team members.
- Administer/dispense medications/vaccines in accordance with applicable regulations and policy.
- Ensure the treatment plans are being followed.
- Other related responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in training staff in medical matters and patient care; attendance at professional meetings as required; assistance of Physician during physical examinations; maintenance of dispensing room; maintenance of medical equipment.
- Possess the knowledge and understanding of how to recognize and manage an opioid overdose.
- Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work.

- Ability to learn computer and application skills as applicable to role. Basic computer and software experience using MS Office products.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person, by telephone. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must also analyze and evaluate situations and adopt effective courses of action.
