Job Summary:
The Senior Credit Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Commercial Real Estate Lending team by providing advanced credit analysis and risk assessment for current and prospective borrowers. This position is responsible for gathering, spreading, and interpreting complex financial information, preparing comprehensive loan approval packages, and ensuring adherence to credit policies and regulatory requirements. The Senior Credit Analyst partners closely with Relationship Managers and Loan Officers to deliver high-quality underwriting analysis, manage credit risk on existing portfolios, and maintain accurate financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic insights that support sound lending decisions.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties:
- Analyze commercial real estate credit requests to evaluate borrower creditworthiness, risk rating, loan structure, collateral adequacy, and repayment sources.
- Perform comprehensive financial analysis of borrowers and guarantors, including review of financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, operating statements, and propertylevel performance.
- Prepare complete and welldocumented credit approval packages for submission to Credit Officers and loan committees, including clear risk assessments and recommendations.
- Ensure all credit requests comply with Bank credit policy, underwriting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assess borrower credit history, management experience, and overall strengths and weaknesses impacting credit decisions.
- Partner closely with the team to maintain accurate, current, and regulatorycompliant credit files; participate in client meetings and property inspections as necessary.
- Request, review, and track required borrower financial information and thirdparty due diligence materials.
- Monitor ongoing financial performance and covenant compliance across the commercial real estate loan portfolio.
- Support loan structures, renewals, extensions, modifications, and portfolio management activities. Participate in loan committee meetings and contribute to credit discussions and risk evaluations.
- Provide analytical support for deal screening, transaction due diligence, and financial modeling related to CRE lending activities.
- Perform general administrative and documentation duties, including file maintenance, document scanning, data entry, and reporting support.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Undergraduate degree.
- Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce, etc.
- Ability to take ownership of simultaneous assignments and produce results in time-sensitive circumstances.
- Ability to work collaboratively with members of the deal team and with third party constituencies.
- Ability to analyze data to support and improve business decisions.
Experience Required:
- 6+ years related experience in commercial banking
- Degree with emphasis on finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or technical field.
- Interest or experience in commercial real estate finance, development, investing.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
