Description

Belstra Milling Company, located in DeMotte, IN is currently looking to fill a Human Resources Assistant/Office Receptionist Position within their Agriculture-based organization of approximately 265 employees. The HR Assistant/Office Receptionist serves a key support role for both Human Resources and daily office operations. This person is the first point of contact for employees, applicants, and visitors, who plays an important role in creating a welcoming and organized environment. The ideal candidate is bilingual, highly organized, people-oriented and comfortable balancing HR responsibilities with front-office duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not Limited to) Human Resource Support:

  • Assist with onboarding new hires, including orientation and safety training coordination
  • Support employee orientations with a focus on safety, biosecurity and company policies
  • Provide HR support for recruiting efforts as needed, including candidate communication, interview coordination and participation, following-up with hiring managers, and assistance with both local and international recruitment efforts, such as airport transportation, Social Security appointments, and other onboarding-related tasks
  • Support HR projects as assigned
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, directing them to the appropriate resources

Office Support & Coordination:

  • Order and manage meeting preparations and breakroom supplies
  • Provide general administrative support to leadership and staff
  • Light cleaning and organizing, as needed
  • Assist with special projects as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • HS diploma required; associates degree or HR coursework preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (email, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 1-2 years of experience in an office or HR support role preferred

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based role with regular interactions with employees, applicants, and visitors
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the office
  • Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, with flexibility to support onboarding, training, or business needs
  • Ability to lift 25lbs. occasionally (office supplies, snacks, materials)
