Job Description
The mission of the IHCC coffee shop is to provide a convenient, affordable and efficient source for food and beverages for the campus community. The food service worker will provide all services necessary in the preparation, serving, receiving payment and cleanup of food and beverages served to customers. Excellent customer service is a priority to each and every person coming into the coffee shop. The food service worker assists in keeping the food production area, service area, storage rooms, and kitchen area clean and organized. As well as assist with checking in and shelving product deliveries.
Please note this is a full-time seasonal position that will work only during the academic year (August-May). Anticipated start in February 2026.
Minimum Qualifications (Resume must reflect all minimum qualifications to be considered.)
Knowledge of:
Working knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing food, and the care and use of cooking utensils and equipment.
Skill in:
Customer Service sufficient to answer questions and advise customers regarding food service and coffee shop.
Ability to:
Collect payments, count money, and complete transactions for customers.
Ability to do simple cooking on large scale and to plan and prepare small meals on a household scale.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals in a diverse multicultural and multiracial community.
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of food and safety practices
Physical Requirements
Requires daily moving and/or transporting things (such as supplies, food, beverages, equipment, etc.) weighing up to 50 pounds. Physical dexterity of hands and fingers is essential.
