Job Description:\n

Join a high-acuity Intermediate Care Unit caring for cardiac and medical patients requiring close monitoring. This travel assignment is ideal for experienced Stepdown/IMU RNs comfortable with telemetry interpretation and titratable drips.

Assignment Details\n

• 13-week travel contract
\n
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
\n
• Self-scheduling available based on unit needs
\n
• 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit
\n

Patient Population\n

\n
• Chest pain and rule-out MI
\n
• CHF and arrhythmias
\n
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization
\n
• Post pacemaker patients
\n
• Tikosyn therapy
\n
• Intermediate care medical patients
\n
• Occasional chest tubes
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license
\n
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
\n
• Intermediate Care/Stepdown experience
\n
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills
\n
• Experience titrating:\n

  • Amiodarone
  \n
  • Cardizem
  \n
  • Dopamine
  \n
  • Dobutamine
  \n
  • Labetalol
  \n
  • Nitroglycerin
  \n
  • Heparin
  \n
  • Lasix (occasionally)

• Sunrise EMR

• Telemetry monitored with Nihon Kohden

• RT, Pharmacy, Hospitalist, Intensivist, and IV Team available 24/7

• RT manages AirVo and BiPAP

• Floating to Telemetry or Med Surg as needed
