The role is fully independent from setup through completion and involves setting up and running CNC press brakes to form sheet metal components for conveyors, platforms, mezzanines, stair stringers, catwalks, and packaging equipment. Candidates must select and install punch-and-die tooling, interpret sheet metal design drawings, and ensure safe, efficient, and accurate operations with strong quality

control. The position demands a high level of responsibility, autonomy, and collaboration within a team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC press brakes for sheet metal forming

• Select, configure, and install appropriate punch-and-die tooling

• Read and interpret sheet metal design drawings

• Form materials from 14 gauge to 3/8-inch thickness

• Perform in-process inspection and quality control in the press brake environment

• Work independently from setup to completion after initial tooling orientation

• Ensure safe, efficient, and accurate machine operation

• Collaborate with team members while maintaining high personal responsibility for work execution

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience as a press brake operator

• Demonstrated expertise in punch-and-die tooling setup for industrial sheet metal forming

• Proficiency reading sheet metal design drawings

• Experience forming 14 gauge through 3/8-inch-thick materials

• Strong independence, accuracy, and progressive work history in press brake operations

• Quality control experience specific to press brake processes

Additional skills

• Cross-functional fabrication experience is a plus:

o Laser cutting

o Waterjet cutting

o Drilling and tapping

o TIG welding

o MIG welding

o Deburring

o General metal fabrication
