Location: Suffolk, VA (Hampton Roads)
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $150,000-$180,000
Position Overview
M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Construction Manager in the Hampton Roads region. This on-site role is responsible for coordinating construction activities, managing field execution, and ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately, and in alignment with project requirements.
This opportunity is ideal for a construction-focused engineer or senior construction professional who thrives in the field and enjoys collaborating with contractors, inspectors, and design teams from project kickoff through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily on-site construction activities with contractors, owners, and subcontractors
- Review and manage shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals, coordinating timely responses across disciplines
- Lead and support field staff, including Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), inspectors, and testing firms
- Serve as a liaison between contractors, owners, and design engineers to ensure work aligns with plans and specifications
- Monitor construction schedules, track progress, and support cost and documentation controls
- Apply engineering judgment to resolve field issues in collaboration with the Engineer of Record
- Support construction observation and contract administration activities
- Maintain strong adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all job sites
- Assist with field reporting and documentation throughout construction phases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related) or Construction Management
- 5+ years of construction management or field engineering experience
- Background supporting infrastructure, water, or wastewater projects
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams during active construction
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
- Ability to work full-time on site in the Suffolk / Hampton Roads area
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience supporting design-build or alternative delivery projects
