Location: Michael’s Transportation Service, Inc. – Vallejo, CA

Pay Rate: $25 – 35 Hourly, (DOE)

We are seeking a dedicated PM Bus Technician to join our Vallejo shop team to ensure our fleet remains in top condition and compliant with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspections and services on school buses and commercial vehicles.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with CHP and DOT standards.
- Inspect, diagnose, and report mechanical issues to Shop Lead or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Change oil, fluids, and filters; inspect brakes, tires, lights, belts, hoses, and exhaust systems.
- Complete documentation, work orders, and inspection reports accurately and on time.
- Assist with general shop duties, including maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with mechanics and shop staff to ensure timely completion of fleet maintenance schedules.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience conducting safety inspections and ensuring compliance with CHP and DOT standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus).
- Prior experience in automotive, diesel, or heavy vehicle maintenance preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and safety procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a shop/bay environment.
- Valid California driver’s license
- Class B with school bus or air brake endorsements preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
