JOB TITLE: Custodian

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: (1) First Shift 8 hr. days: (Monday- Friday, & some weekends) Willing to work overtime at a moment’s notice, and work until the job is completed•

Summary

This position is responsible for keeping the building in a clean and orderly condition. This position performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls / glass and removing trash and debris.  Duties also include break area and restroom cleaning.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

• Housekeeping-Cleaning and maintain the health and safety standards for Bonnell (includes unpleasant cleaning tasks)
• Operate Floor Sweeper
• Empty / Dump Trash
• Clean First Aid Station / Area
• Maintain Scrap roll-off
• Launder gloves, armguards etc.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Line Leaders, and co-workers
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Inform supervisor of any health, safety or equipment concerns
• Work without constant supervision at a good pace
• Have an acute awareness of conditions and hazards associated with the job
• Forklift and overhead crane awareness
• Complete training for Bloodborne Pathogens
• These duties may require the temporary transfer to another department
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment / Physical Demands: 

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. 
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.

• Operate small hand tools and power tools

• Basic math skills

• Comfortable working with and around chemicals

• Work with noisy equipment

• Complete safety training and operate a forklift
