Background:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for organizing, stacking, and securing completed materials on pallets, as well as building and wrapping pallets for shipment. The Material Handler ensures all work is performed in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to maintain the required standards of product quality, safety, and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Load finished goods onto pallets in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Build and prepare pallets for shipment, ensuring product integrity, labeling accuracy, and proper load configuration.
- Secure pallets using approved wrapping materials to maintain stability and prevent damage during storage or transport.
- Inspect materials for any damage, contamination, or inconsistencies, and promptly report findings to the Shift Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and company housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to support production schedules, efficiency, and on-time shipment goals.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Prior working knowledge in a manufacturing, packaging, or pharmaceutical industry, preferred.
- Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work in various weather/temperature conditions to include heat, humidity and cold.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and loud production environment.
- Ability to handle continuous movement.
- Work schedule may vary and could include evenings, weekends, or occasional overtime based on operational needs.
- Understand, follow, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and adherence to defined company policies and procedures, safety rules and SOPs.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
- Attention to details.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and move heavy objects safely.
- Requires constant use of manual dexterity for handling materials and operating equipment.
- Ability to operate a hand pallet jack and other material-handling tools as needed.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during the work shift.
- Requires the ability to walk, bend, lift, pull, twist, kneel, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods while performing job duties.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse environment.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and humid conditions.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, and other warehouse machinery.
- Noise levels are typically moderate to high; hearing protection may be required in certain areas.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes must be worn as required.
- Work pace may be fast with frequent deadlines and shifting priorities.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $17.00*. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
