Per Diem Engineer – Convention Hotel
Join our dynamic team at a premier 199-room convention hotel located in downtown Worcester as a Per Diem Engineer. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and operation of a vibrant hospitality environment. We are seeking a motivated and skilled professional to ensure our facilities are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests
- Conduct inspections to identify and address potential issues proactively
- Assist in the upkeep of public areas, guest rooms, and back-of-house facilities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work orders
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and hotel policies
- Support special projects and renovations as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or engineering
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair techniques
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus

Requirements:- 2–5 years of building maintenance or hotel engineering experience (full-service or convention hotel experience strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical and plumbing repairs
- Building automation systems (BAS) – basic operation
- Ability to troubleshoot independently and work with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent
