Janitorial Team Member

Perform all duties related to maintaining the general cleanliness and safety of the main facility, restrooms, and offices. This position is responsible for overall cleanliness to provide a safe working environment for all of our team members and visitors, emphasizing a clean and orderly work environment. The facility needs to be cleaned/sanitized per SMI cleaning standards.

BATHROOM

• Refill all soaps and paper product dispensers
• Clean sinks and Toilets
• Sweep & Mop
• Empty garbage containers
• Once a week, wipe down the walls of the bathroom stalls

CAFETERIA

• Wipe down and clean all tables, countertops, microwaves & coffee pots
• Restock supplies as needed
• Clean sinks
• Clean all windows
• Sweep and mop
• Empty garbage cans

SHOP FLOOR

• Empty all trash cans
• Operate the floor scrubber
• Clean all sinks
• Vacuum all rugs
• Change Pop Collection bins

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven working experience as a janitor
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets
• Integrity and ability to work independently
• Ability to carry out detailed oral or written instructions.
• Communication skills to relate to team members and visitors in a courteous manner.
• Ability to acquire job skills with three months of on-the-job training
• Disposition to perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 25 to 40 pounds.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
• Push and pull wheeled cleaning carts
• Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
• Walking around the facility with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length
• Ability to climb ladders safely and without limitation
• Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Temperature-controlled clean facility
• The building is close to a quarter of a mile in length
• Multiple restroom facilities
• Team-oriented environment

POSITION DETAIL:

• Full-time position M-F with some flexibility for setting your own hours
• Reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Manager

SCHEDULE:

• 8 hour shifts Monday – Friday
