About the Role:
The Warehouse and Material Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the efficient operation of warehouse and material handling activities within the organization. This position is responsible for managing inventory control, ensuring timely shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining accurate records through SAP systems. The manager leads departmental teams to optimize workflow, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance. They collaborate closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align material availability with operational demands. Ultimately, this role ensures that materials and products are handled safely, stored properly, and delivered on schedule to support business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management or material handling within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for inventory and order management.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a team.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and inventory control best practices.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support operational decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in warehouse management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve warehouse processes.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.
- Previous experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, and inventory control to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead and develop the warehouse team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Utilize SAP software to track inventory levels, process orders, and generate reports for management review.
- Coordinate with procurement and production departments to forecast material needs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Implement and enforce warehouse policies and procedures to comply with safety regulations and company standards.
