Saw Machine Operator

We are currently hiring a Saw Operator to join our steel fabrication team! This role is responsible for cutting structural steel to specific sizes using cut lists, work orders, and bills of materials while meeting all company, industry, and contract standards.

Job Summary

As a Saw Operator, you will saw structural steel materials accurately and efficiently, complete quality checks, and support daily production goals in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut structural steel to exact dimensions based on cut lists, work orders, and bills of materials
• Perform machine set-ups using computer-assisted gauging systems
• Complete QC checks to verify parts match print specifications
• Offload steel shipments using a hoist, inspect for imperfections, and verify material counts
• Read and interpret blueprints, production status reports, and work orders
• Measure material accurately using:
• • Tape measure
  • Calipers
  • Squares
  • Protractors
• Record time on timesheets using decimal time entries (from chart)
• Maintain consistent attendance and work up to 10-hour shifts to meet production schedules
• Follow all safety policies and procedures in a steel fabrication environment

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Saw Operator or working in a steel fabrication/manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and cut sheets
• Strong measuring skills using precision tools
• Comfortable working around heavy steel materials and industrial equipment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work extended hours when needed
