Job Description
Responsible for performing preventive and reactive maintenance to support continuous manufacturing operations. This role focuses on executing PM schedules, troubleshooting and repairing equipment to maintain maximum production efficiency, supporting safety initiatives, and maintaining spare parts inventory. Serves as first responder to equipment issues and collaborates with production, engineering, and vendors as needed.
12-hour shift
40+ hours per week
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Perform physical labor in hot and cold environments
Key Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment including extruders, corrugators, motors, drives, chillers, and downstream equipment
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and complete CMMS work orders
- Troubleshoot PLC I/O, motor drives, and control systems
- Support production staff to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation
- Order replacement parts and control components as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement, safety, and daily management initiatives
- Serve as first responder to machine issues; escalate to Electrical Engineering when required
Job Skills
- Electrical troubleshooting using voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, megger, etc.
- Reading electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics
- Knowledge of 3-phase industrial power distribution
- AC/DC motor and drive PMs, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting
- PLC I/O and industrial networking troubleshooting
- Understanding of NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79, LOTO, arc flash, and PPE requirements
- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing troubleshooting skills
- Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management, prioritization, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent – Required
- Technical training in electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems – Preferred
- Basic PLC and drive training – Preferred
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Electrical systems and industrial controls experience
- Plastic manufacturing or extrusion process knowledge
