What You’ll Do Day to Day
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a key role in supporting both our doctors and clients during appointments and procedures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting doctors during wellness and sick appointments
- Assisting with patient restraint, sample collection, and treatments
- Drawing blood, placing IV catheters, running in-house lab work, and preparing samples for send-out testing
- Administering vaccines and medications as directed
- Discussing vaccine protocols, preventive care, and post-visit instructions with clients
- Providing compassionate, low-stress patient handling and nursing care
- Supporting anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and dental procedures as trained veterinary technician
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
- Collaborating with technicians, assistants, and CSRs to keep appointments running smoothly
Who We’re Looking For
- Prior experience working as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is required
- Comfortable working in exam rooms and supporting client-facing appointments
- Experience with blood draws, placing IV catheters, injections, vaccines, and client education
- Familiarity with basic lab work and medical record systems
- Licensed or certified veterinary technicians in New Jersey is preferred, but licensure is not required
- Calm, compassionate animal handling skills
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-first mindset
- Desire to continue learning and growing within the veterinary field
This role is a great fit for someone earlier in their career but still has had experience working in a veterinary hospital and who seeks mentorship, skill development, and consistent support from an experienced team.
Compensation + Benefits:
Salary: $19.00-$22.00 an hour, to commensurate with experience.
