We are seeking a Cybersecurity Associate to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our security operations and help protect the organization from evolving cyber threats. This role focuses onmonitoringsystems,assistingwith incident response, learning vulnerability management practices, and supporting senior staff while developing core cybersecurity skills.
This role will be based out of our Austin, TX office and is subject to our Companys return-to-office policy which currently requires a minimum of three days a week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assistin documenting security incidents and assessingthe impact and scope.
- Support theIT Teamin conducting basic tests toidentifypotential vulnerabilities.
- Help remediateanydetected vulnerabilities.
- Stay informed about foundational cybersecurity trends, common attack methods, and security best practices.
- Contribute to developing and promoting organization-wide security awareness and best practices.
- Participate in basic penetration testing activities and security assessments.
- Assistcolleagues with installing, configuring, and learning security tools.
Requirements
- Some professional experience or internship in information security, IT support, or a related field is preferred.
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including networking, firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention.
- Basic familiarity with penetration testing tools and methodologies.
- Ability toidentifyand communicate common security risks and mitigation strategies.
- Experience with or exposure to Microsoft security products, such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Sentinel, Entra ID Protection, Microsoft 365 Defender, or related security solutions.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and develop into higher-level cybersecurity roles.
