About the role:
The Safety Specialist will perform full-time onsite construction safety related duties on datacenter located in Lenoir, NC. Prior construction safety experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an owner's representative for safety
- Duties as required by 1926 OSHA Standards for Construction
- Ensure compliance for the safety of site workers and general public
- Develop safety kick-off presentations and conduct on-site orientations and pre-shift meetings
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, safety assessments and safety audits
- Investigate incidents and complete associated paperwork
- Conduct risk assessments
- Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management or customer
- Serve as company liaison with overseeing municipalities, OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agencies
- Maintain all safety related documentation
Education/Qualifications:
- Fluent in English, written and verbal
- OSHA 30 Hr. for Construction
- 7 years of datacenter construction experience
- 10 years of construction experience if no datacenter experience
- BCSP Board Certified
- CSP, CHST strongly preferred
- NFPA 70E
- Collegiate Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or equivalent
- Ability to teach and train others on safety programs (required)
- Ability to identify known potential exposures and recommending corrective action
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of not only risk identification but risk ranking as well
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Technological competency
What we offer:
This project-based opportunity has full-time potential. The current project will be from 1-3 years, The schedule will vary, however, the expectation for the position is a minimum of 40 hours weekly to 70 hours weekly. This is a 1099 contract: depending on experience, and ranges from $55 to $60 per hour and $100 per diem per day fro days worked-per diem based on living outside of a 75 mile radius. You must have reliable transportation and be able to commute successfully for day-to-day operation. The schedule is M-F; however, flexibility is a must. Please reach out with your resume.
