Title: Satellite Office Clerk

Salary Range: $18 to $22

Position Overview: The Satellite Office Clerk provides essential clerical and administrative support by managing documentation and supporting various office and billing functions. This position ensures that charges are prepared and submitted in a timely manner,
within established guidelines.
- Prepare packets of patient demographic and anesthesia records for scanning into the billing system
- Ensure packets contain all necessary information prior to scanning
- Obtain missing or incomplete information for charge entry
- Scan documents into online storage system
- Reconcile charges daily, weekly, monthly in accordance with charge reconciliation policies and procedures
- Maintain an open line of communication with Charge Entry Manager
- Maintain good working relationship with ambulatory surgery center, client business office and hospital staff
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies:
- Flexibility – willingness to help in other accounts and other areas as needed
- Assertiveness – recognize problems, suggesting solutions and overall improvement of the service to clients
- Ability to meet minimum production and accuracy standards
- Ability to follow instructions and written guidelines in account specifics
- Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations
- Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
- Ability to schedule time and assignments effectively
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year medical office experience preferred
- Understanding of medical billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Knowledge of billing practices and procedures
- Knowledge of coding operating policies
- Knowledge of HIPAA (legal and ethical consideration related to patient information)
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
- Proficient skills in computer programs; KAM billing system, Word, Excel
