R 3074 BIS Community Mentor - Part-time

 This position is for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year only.

JOB GOAL: Increase positive and safe school culture based on school’s core values; enhance student-staff relationships; support at-risk students; increase diversity of adult role models from communities that are currently underrepresented in the faculty and staff; strengthen community connection to the school.

Qualifications: 

1. Excellent relationship building skills with school aged students
2. Ability to communicate effectively with adults
3. Experience working with youth of diverse cultures and socio-economic statuses

Reports to: Principal and Dropout Prevention Coordinator

Performance Responsibilities: 

1. Connect and provide mentorship to students at BIS and schools across the district.
2. Work to provide community resources to students.
3. Assisting staff in developing positive school culture.
4. De-escalate situations within a calm and appropriate manner.
5. Participate in a BPS mentor training as a part of on-boarding.

Compensation: Unaffiliated; $35/hour; up to 15 hours per week
