We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead all operational and financial aspects of our established HVAC business. The ideal candidate will possess a strong financial acumen combined with extensive hands-on operational experience (5-10 years) within the service or construction industry, preferably HVAC. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive profitability, optimize efficiency, and ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining strict financial health.
Key Responsibilities....
Financial Management & Strategy:
• Develop, implement, and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term business plans to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
• Oversee all accounting functions, including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and cost control, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and areas for revenue enhancement.
• Manage pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships to maximize margins and operational effectiveness.
Operational Leadership & Efficiency:
• Direct and oversee all day-to-day operations, including service, installation, maintenance, and administrative functions.
• Optimize operational processes, scheduling, and inventory management to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all departments, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational facets of the business.
Team Management & Development:
• Lead, mentor, and manage the entire team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
• Oversee recruiting, training, and retention of highly skilled technicians, sales personnel, and administrative staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and set clear objectives to ensure the professional growth of team members.
Sales & Customer Relations:
• Work closely with the Sales Manager to develop effective sales strategies, expand market share, and meet revenue targets.
• Ensure outstanding customer service is delivered consistently, managing complex client issues and enhancing overall customer loyalty.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 5-10 years of progressive operational leadership experience, preferably as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role within the HVAC, construction, or related service industry.
• Financial Acumen: Proven track record in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility. Must be proficient in financial analysis and reporting.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in business management software (e.g., CRM Service Titan a plus, field service management, accounting platforms, QuickBooks a plus).
