Job Description
Position Summary
The AR clerk is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment posting, account reconciliation and communication with customers as needed to ensure customer account balances are accurate. AR Clerk will provide support to the Controller, Director of Finance, and other staff members as needed with respect to the monthly closing process, acquisition of other business and payment of sales and use taxes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Daily posting and reconciliation of customer check payments via remote deposit
- Daily lockbox and elockbox check posting and reconciliation to customer information system
- Daily reconciliation of credit card payments
- Suspense account monitoring
- Monthly payment of sales and use tax
- Month end closing duties including account rec’s, bank rec’s and JE’s
- Assist with new branch setup related to banking, establishing utilities, etc.
- Assist with accounts payable as needed.
Required Qualifications / Attributes
- Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including professional customer interactions
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Previous use of CRM and general ledger software (Quickbooks, Sage Intacct, etc.)
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
Education and Experience
- High School degree or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ experience in an accounts receivable role
- Experience posting electronic payments to customer accounts
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
