Job Title:Project Engineer

Pay Range:$75,000 - $100,000 DOE

Reports to:ProjectManager

Position Summary

The ProjectEngineer supports the successful execution of civil construction projects byassistingthe Estimating Team, Project Manager, Superintendent, and field teams. The Project Engineer acts as a critical link between the office and the field, coordinating technical information, documentation,schedule updates,and communications.


Key Responsibilities


Project Planning & Coordination

  • Assist the Project Manager with ongoing changes, issues, and project needs throughout the job lifecycle, ensuring alignment on schedules, scope, and project challenges.
  • Collaborate withtheProjectManagerandtheSuperintendenttomaintain the project schedule,including the overall schedule and thethree-weekschedule on a weekly basis.
  • Bridge the gap between estimating andthecourse of construction by validating IFC (Issued for Construction) plans, quantities, and assumptions, including processing contracttrue-upsbased on IFC drawings and field conditions.
  • Assistwith preparing, tracking, and reconciling change orders and contracttrue-upsthroughout the project.
  • Manage Submittal Process compile, prepare, submit, track and ensure approval in a timely manner.
  • Manage RFI Process work with Project Manager to prepare and submit RFIs, track and ensure, closurein a timely manner.
  • Assistwith materialsourcingand procurement in coordination with the Project Manager and Estimator.
  • SupportOne-Call updates and dig permit coordination to ensure safe field operations.

Technical & Engineering Support

  • Manage GPStoposincluding pre-construction, progress, and as-built surveys.
  • Compare GPS models (provided vs. actuals) to calculate and verify quantities.
  • Compilesurveydata and process it into usable information for project tracking and verification.
  • MaintainFAAPart 107 Drone License and conduct UAV operations asrequired.
  • Support layout, surveying, and quantity take-offs for materials.
  • Maintain project logs.(Quantity tracker,Submittal logs, RFI logs,etc.)
  • Assistwith progress meetings, preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and follow-up action items.


Qualifications

  • 13 years of experience in civil construction (internship experience may be considered).
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and standards.
  • Proficiencyin Magnet/Topcon Office and construction management softwarepreferred but notrequired(Procore, Acumatica, Primavera P6, MS Project,Microsoft 365,or similar).
  • FAA Part 107 Drone License (required or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Mustbe able totravel full-time.
