We are currently partnering with a locally based general contractor and construction firm in Bartow, Florida, specializing in heavy civil site work and utility construction. Established in 1976, the company brings nearly five decades of experience in the local construction industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate excavators, loaders, and dozers on underground utility job sites
• Dig trenches and holes to proper depth, grade, and slope for pipe installation
• Lift, place, and move HDPE pipe using machine attachments, straps, or slings
• Work closely with pipe layers and foremen to maintain production flow
• Assist with backfill, grading, and general site work as needed
• Read and follow drawings and utility profiles to ensure accurate installation
• Identify and safely work around existing underground utilities
• Follow all job site safety procedures and maintain clear communication with the crew
• Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs

Who We’re Looking For

• 2–3+ years of experience operating excavators, loaders, and/or dozers on active construction sites, with strong preference for underground utility projects
• Hands-on experience with underground pipe installation, including HDPE, and an understanding of the full underground construction process
• Proven ability to dig trenches to precise grade, maintain proper depth, slope, and alignment
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and utility profiles, including depths, offsets, and tie-in points
• Experience handling pipe using straps, slings, forks, and equipment attachments
• Solid understanding of underground utility safety practices, including working around existing utilities
• Comfortable working closely with pipe layers, foremen, and ground crews to support productivity and safety
• Willingness to assist with general site work such as backfill, grading, and cleanup as needed
• Ability to perform basic equipment inspections and report mechanical or maintenance issues
• Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work 50 hours per week and adapt to changing job site demands
• Reliable transportation with the ability to drive directly to the job site daily
• Proven dependability and strong attendance history

What You Can Expect

• $23.00 - $25.00/hr, DOE
• Monday - Friday, working 10-hour days
• PTO
