Senior Accountant
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Director of Finance Job Summary:
Contract to Hire 

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for the accounting operations.This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
The Senior Accountant is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities: • Accounting Team Members

Duties/Responsibilities: The responsibilities will include but not limited to:
▪ Oversee day-to-day accounting function
▪ Manage and train the team members
▪ Identify, recommend and implement improvements in accounting operations
▪ Manage balance sheet risk and impairment testing
 Manage inventory value
▪ Administer asset management and capitalization processes
▪ Manage the procedures for complex journal entries
 Support Director of Finance with monthly close, directives and controls and process documentation
▪ Assist with financial compliance
▪ Configure and execute monthly Cognos reporting
▪ Monitor and audit financial systems
▪ Work with external auditors and accountants as needed
▪ Perform other projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Finance for the overall benefit of the organization
Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree with experience
• Minimum of 5-8 years of related progressive accounting experience
 CPA Required
• Epicor experience is a plus
• Experience with GAAP and IFRS
• Cognos experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
