Title: 14996777 - Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical Assembly (Aerospace)
Job Description:
- Client is seeking a manufacturing engineer with mechanical assembly background and experience with special processes such as brazing, welding, and potting.
- The ideal candidate will be an independent worker requiring minimal oversight, have excellent attention to detail and the creativity to provide innovative solutions to complex manufacturing issues.
Responsibilities:
- Development of specific methods and instructions for manufacture and/or assembly of products
- Identify potential fabrication problems
- Develop fixturing and process updates to address fabrication problems
- Work with internal teams to implement improvements.
- Observe, document, and review production builds on the shop floor
- Provide analysis and investigations of defects found during the manufacturing process and how to correct them
- Establish touch labor cost targets on shop/lab activities as requested
- Define tool and gage requirements & provide the necessary input and support to the tool design group
- Provide the necessary input and support to the tool design group
- Ensure correct tools and gages are available when needed in the process and are prescribed by the process documentation
- Propose engineering changes to determine feasibility, producibility and delta labor impact
Qualifications Preferred:
- Manufacturing or Industrial engineering degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of the SAP or similar Enterprise Requirements Planning system
- Process improvement experience (Lean Manufacturing)
- Experience with additive welding processes
- Experience with brazing processes
- Experience with Creo engineering software
Education:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
