As part of our continued expansion, we are investing in a Raleigh, North Carolina–based partner firm and seeking an experienced CPA Tax Manager / Tax Supervisor to play a key leadership role within the tax practice.
Position Overview
The CPA Tax Manager / Tax Supervisor will manage all phases of tax engagements, including planning, compliance, preparation, review, and research, with a strong emphasis on high-net- worth individual clients. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and a client-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all phases of tax planning, preparation, review, compliance, and research
• Prepare and review Individual (high-net-worth), Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate tax returns
• Apply current tax laws, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific guidance to identify client impacts and recommend strategic solutions
• Utilize and oversee tax software including Microsoft Office, and Intuit QuickBooks
• Stay current on tax law developments and communicate implications to clients and
internal teams
• Coordinate complex tax and accounting projects with other members of the accounting
team
• Review engagement workpapers, resolve issues, and keep partners informed of key
developments
• Coordinate engagement staffing, job planning, and scheduling
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff accountants
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional
services and operational efficiencies

Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (Required)
• 7+ years of experience in a CPA firm (Required)
• Extensive experience with high-net-worth individual tax returns and complex personal
tax engagements
• Experience with UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products
(Preferred)
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and client-focused with a strong “firm-first” mindset
