About Adventure Tours

Adventure Tours is a fast-growing, multi-state motorcoach and fleet transportation company serving the East Coast with a reputation for reliability, safety, and professionalism. Our Charlotte maintenance facility supports a diverse fleet of late-model motorcoaches, minibuses, and support vehicles. We take pride in keeping our fleet road-ready through teamwork, efficiency, and craftsmanship.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Diesel Technician to join our Charlotte maintenance team.
This role combines hands-on technical work with shop leadership responsibilities — ideal for an experienced mechanic ready to grow into a Shop Foreman or Maintenance Manager role.

You’ll work alongside a small team of diesel technicians, oversee daily workflow and service scheduling, and serve as a key communication point between the shop and the Maintenance Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel coaches, minibuses, and support vehicles.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians; set daily priorities and ensure productivity.
  • Assist in scheduling PM services, work orders, and vendor coordination.
  • Monitor repair quality, safety, and compliance with company and DOT standards.
  • Support parts tracking, inventory control, and repair documentation.
  • Communicate repair status, challenges, and recommendations directly with the Maintenance Director.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician (motorcoach, heavy-truck, or fleet experience preferred).
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven ability to lead or coordinate a small team.
  • Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and preventive maintenance standards.
  • CDL B with air brake endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
  • Computer literacy for service documentation and diagnostic software.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary ($70K–$80K DOE) with growth potential into a Shop Foreman/Manager role.
  • Stable Monday–Friday schedule – no overnight shifts.
  • Modern, well-equipped shop with supportive management and long-term career potential.
