Compliance Accountant
Kinzler Corporation is seeking a Compliance Accountant responsible for preparing and supporting regulatory and compliance-related accounting functions, including sales and use tax compliance, retirement plan reporting, insurance audits, and licensing and registration requirements. This role works closely with the Liability Accounting Manager and Accounting Director to ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and accurate reporting across the organization.
This position is ideal for an accounting professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a compliance-focused role that supports a growing, multi-state organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation, reporting, and control of all sales and use tax accounts
- Maintain sales and use tax software (Avalara) and ensure proper integration with the accounting system
- Prepare and submit all required sales and use tax filings
- Complete and renew state, local, and contractor registrations and licenses
- Prepare 401(k) and ESOP compliance reporting and support routine compliance audits
- Assist with audit, valuation, and tax workpapers and respond to external inquiries
- Maintain documentation and internal controls to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance
- Partner with the Liability Accounting Manager and Accounting Director on compliance and reporting needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- 2+ years of accounting or financial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn accounting software
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
- Professional communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels
Preferred Skills
- Experience with sales and use tax compliance in a multi-state environment
- Familiarity with Avalara or similar tax compliance software
- Construction or related industry experience
- Exposure to retirement plan reporting (401(k), ESOP)
- Experience supporting audits and working with external service providers
