Clinic Registered Nurse

The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking to hire a full-time Clinic Registered Nurse. The Clinic Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing services to individuals, families or group settings. Services are provided to infants, children, teenagers, adults and elderly, through supervision of the Nursing Team at a Walk-in Clinic but RN will also conduct home-visits within the community-at-large, and in patient settings as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizes Health Summary to assess patients’ current health screening deficiencies to determine patient care plan, ex. immunizations, off-site referral, labs, etc.
• Must maintain all Clinic Exam Rooms, Laboratory, Triage Area and Nursing Station, which includes organizing access to appropriate supplies for treatment of patients (Men, Women, Children, as well as Emergencies).
• Responsible for ordering of supplies for exam rooms and laboratory.
• Maintain all aspects of patient care regarding follow-up and outreach on behalf of the Clinic providers, i.e. Immunizations, Repeat Labs, etc.
• Participate in program goals and objectives for various registries as delegated by the immediate supervisor.
• Must work responsibly for any other duties as assigned. 

TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:    

Must be skilled in applying minor treatment procedures, in performing simple routine laboratory procedures and diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions according to protocol. Must have the ability to adapt to cultural changes in order to effectively deliver community health care. Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a valid State of Florida License as an RN.   

EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a doctor’s office or hospital setting.

HUMAN SKILLS: Must be able to work well with individuals and groups under unpleasant or stressful conditions. Must be capable of working with people in a cross-culture setting.

SHIFT: Weekends – Saturday & Sunday 9:00am – 9:30pm and 1 Weekday day/shift

MISCELLANEOUS: Must have a valid Florida driver’s license, with safe driving record.
