This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). In addition to the on-site duties, there are additional responsibilities that can be completed outside of the office, resulting in this being a hybrid role.

The Commercial Support Specialist provides administrative and operational support to the Commercial Banking team including loan, deposit and treasury management products & services. This role ensures the accurate processing & monitoring of commercial loans as well as the accurate setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of treasury services while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.  The specialist acts as a liaison between loan officers and internal departments to facilitate smooth operations and exceptional member service.

 

You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:

  • Open business and personal memberships, ensuring accurate and complete documentation to support loan & deposit growth.
  • Prepare & process documentation for onboarding new commercial clients for business credit card & treasury management services (ACH, wire transfers & remote deposit capture) to ensure functionality and appropriate access.
  • Maintain adherence to all applicable regulatory & internal audit standards as well as departmental processes & procedures.

 

You will make a difference as you live out our purpose: 

  • Process loan disbursements, payments, and account maintenance requests.
  • Serve as an internal liaison to proactively identify and resolve member issues, including assistance with setup, access, and functionality. 
  • Complete pre-closing loan due diligence by obtaining third-party documents (e.g., appraisals, flood certifications, title reports, UCC searches) to ensure closing deadlines are achieved.

 

You will help grow the business:

  • Manage a tickler of recurring financial & collateral reporting requirements (e.g.,evidence of insurance, UCC filings) and assist loan officers with tickler report maintenance through on-going member interaction and follow-up.
  • Maintain electronic imaging of membership, treasury management and tickler items to ensure compliance with retention requirements.
  • Organize and manage operational records to support efficient workflows and audit readiness.

 

You will continue to grow professionally:

  • Develop a working knowledge of commercial lending practices, products, and policies.
  • Contribute to process improvement & refinement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency to support organizational & departmental growth.
  • Participate in appropriate learning opportunities to expand expertise.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree with a major in Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of credit union/banking experience with member/customer service responsibilities.
  • 1 year of Fiserv DNA experience including opening memberships, deposit accounts, loans, and general maintenance and processing.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced, diverse, and growth-orientated environment within established timeframes.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of technology tools and possess knowledge of basic system navigation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to invest in our community.
